If you have ever fallen into a massive Instagram vortex, like I tend to do every day around 3 p.m., you’ve noticed that subscription box services are all the rage. As you scroll and see sponsored posts you may have noticed that these babies don’t discriminate; you can find one for just about anyone and anything. I’ve seen beauty boxes, bark boxes, happy boxes, snack boxes, sock boxes and oh yes ‘sorry you’re single boxes’. Pleasant. While companies scramble to tackle this new and exciting way of luring customers into their products/website one keeps treading the waters all the way to the top: FabFitFun.
I signed up for FabFitFun emails about seven-ish years ago when Giuliana Rancic was the main celebrity sponsoring this lifestyle website/email. It was in a terrible doc-format without a fancy photo in sight but the message was the same: A lifestyle brand full of girl-group positivity, fun and a balance between beauty/health/entertainment. Fast-forward to today and if you aren’t walked straight into a sponsorship from FabFitFun as soon as you’re cast off The Bachelor then you are doing something wrong. I just really believe in this fun little ‘treat yo self’ giftie and if you’re going to shell out some of your hard-earned money for a subscription box, it should be for one that treats you right like the sweet, southern boyfriend you deserve!
To be fair, I dipped a toe in the subscription box service a few years ago with Birchbox and while the products were fancy AF, they were tinier than a free sample from Clinique! Whenever I actually liked a sample I was immediately let down when I saw the price for a full-sized bottle and would have to tell myself “Ok, well it wasn’t the BEST dry shampoo…”
My roommate and I ditched our Birchboxes and she moved on and quickly fell in love with two monthly subscription boxes Julep and FabFitFun. Julep was originally touted as a nail polish subscription box at first, and since I’m strictly a gel-polish gal, I never got into this one. However, over the years my roommate has subscribed to Julep, the products have changed from nail polish to face creams, makeup brushes and more. It’s a pretty clever, purple box at a cool $20/month.
So, without a subscription box to my name, I started to covet a lot of the items my roommate was receiving in her FabFitFun box. Every three months she was receiving a HUGE, adorably colorful box filled to the brim with FULL SIZED products that not only looked cute but worked really well and the whole box is valued at OVER $200. We’d be out and I’d be in need of a cell phone charge and she’d hand me the cutest portable device, I was shocked to hear it was from FabFitFun when I inquired where she got it. That was her answer to a lot of my questions “CUTE bracelet, is that new?” “FabFitFun” or “Ohhh, I love that umbrella” “Erika, it’s FabFitFun!” I was beginning to think this was her new favorite F-word. So when in Winter of 2015 this little delight showed up at our door, I caved and join the other chicks, and some guys, out there treating themselves to the seasons’ best! Did you see those adorable wine stopper and glass decorations in that box? Who wouldn’t be swayed?
This past weekend was my one-year FabFitFun-aversary and I have to say this spring’s box is just perfect! It has all the things you didn’t know that you needed for an afternoon at the beach, amazing face masks (I am so obsessed with at-home skin care) and even gummy vitamins to make your hair long and strong! However, what I am digging the most this season is the ‘dr. brant® microdermabrasion exfoliant’ to get my Florida skin ready for the summer. Another plus to FabFitFun is their add-ons; if you liked a product you received in the past you can add it to a future box at a Costco-sized discount! Oh and with every box are a slew of coupons for you to reorder the items in your box or fun add-ons like three meals free from Hello, Fresh!
Also, one of the things I like about this subscription box is the pull-out magazine it comes with. It has background information on all the products you received along with the companies and people who made it happen. This quick read also has fun photos and sayings perfect for any inspiration board and this seasons ‘Let today be the start of something new’ is already pinned to the cork board in my closet helping get my butt out the door and to work on time!
Seriously, you don’t have to take my word for it, or my roommates who has spent the last few years preaching the good word of the triple F, so click on over to FabFitFun.com and learn all about what I think is the greatest subscription box. Oh, and because we are SUCH good friends, if you use my link you’ll get $10 off your first box if you use the code: FIRSTBOX. Isn’t that better that supporting a cast-off from the latest reality show? Ok now run, be fab, be fit and be fun and be leaving a comment or a like or a little bit of love my way!
