Eeks! Babes, welcome to the brand spanking, pretty but not too girly and totally chic, new My Revamped Life website. Click around and check things out; things look a little different around here.
For the last year I’ve tinkered with this blog and just couldn’t land on the right look and feel. It’s weird going to school for writing (journalism to be exact) but not actually pursue it as a career. Working in technology wearables doesn’t exactly give me the opportunity to have a creative outlet, but that’s exactly what this website is all about.
In college, my friend Jess had a great AIM away message (ugh that makes me feel old typing that) from her college professor, “People ask me how you know if you’re a writer. Stop writing. If you can stop, you’re not a writer.”
This quote sat with me for years−11 years to be exact. I use this quote to help explain passion verses talent to people. Just because you’re talented at something doesn’t mean it’s your passion. However, if your talent and passion happen to align? Then you need to stop what you are doing and ensure you are following that path that is carved out for you or carve that damn path out yourself!
So with the rebranding of the site (revamping if you will) to what I think is the best version of what I set out to do I’m happy to reintroduce you to what I think is my passion and my talent. Consider this blog like a fun boozy brunch with your girls, a coffee date after a Pilates class or a Happy Hour midweek. This is where we can talk about all of those real life things we deal with on the daily: work, love, travel, finding the perfect brunch spot in town that’s got a great outdoor spot but not too sunny. Like I said, real life things. So, please leave a comment and let me know what you want to talk about.
Also, I couldn’t finish this post without a huge shout out to one of the most creative people I know: Heather Dauphiny. We worked together a few years ago when she was a Communication specialist supporting a large technology launch I was a part of. She always knew how to take the projects I was working on and beautify them and create amazing internal communication documents. She recently started her own creative company and through a few emails (ok we’re talking 30ish ha!), stalking my Instagram and just knowing me in general she took my vague words (girlie, but not too girlie, chic but not too clean) and designed what I think is what it must look like inside my head! I cannot thank her enough and am constantly in awe of her talent. So if YOU have any revamping to do please check out her site, shoot off an email, send her a DM, do what you need to do, she will create you something beautiful. Trust me.
Friends, thanks for your patience while we updated…Pop the champagne and let’s get this party started!
