I have preached to you the word of the business gospel that a handwritten note is everything. However, there are some times when a cute e-greeting for a coworker is perfect and that’s why I’m so happy to introduce you to Paperless Post. With so much of our lives, and yes, work lives, driven by the online world it never hurts to pretty-up our emails…when necessary!
Now, I do not think that you should send out a meeting invite to your team about that 3 p.m. presentation on Monday with a Kate Spade invite (YES Paperless Post has a whole Kate Spade section) but it doesn’t hurt to throw your friends a cute happy hour email.
I have had a long-time tradition of keeping track of coworkers birthdays on my work calendar. I think it’s important to show people that you care with a simple “Happy Birthday” email, especially if you haven’t worked with them in some time. It keeps you on people’s minds and you know we’re all about how to make that 9-5 life as stress-free as possible.
For my coworker, Laura, I went straight to the Rifle Paper section of Paperless Post, because not only do I love this brand but it’s great to support a local Orlando company! I can’t begin to tell you how easy the process is of selecting your card, typing in your message – you can even change the font, size and color – and background.
Because your whole card is an e-card, e-invite, heck even an e-save the date, how your card is presented is super important. It’s a vibe as they say! ๐ Anyway, I loved the blue watercolor for this birthday greeting and loved that the e-envelope even matched the card. Guys, can I say e-something one more time? HA!
Anyway, you’ve got your card, you wrote something adorable or you’ve got the place/time for your event down now it’s just a matter of sending it on! to get your e-card out the door will cost you some coins, literally! When you sign up for Paperless Post you can select how many coins you want to purchase, for example, 100 coins are about $20. Cards are about 2 coins each in the end and if you create a special envelope and choose the add-ons then each card/recipient is about 5 coins.
I am a sucker for a good thank you card or stationery so I am loving still being able to customize it with my name, and keep that personal brand going in the office, ok e-office! I just had to do it, I couldn’t resist. With few coins you can quickly send off a thank you note after a meet and greet (handwritten ONLY after interviews, PLEASE!) or send a note to a coworker to let them know you appreciated their support on a huge project.
Being a good person in the office doesn’t’ have to be hard, and sending little notes like this will go a long way with those around you. Give Paperless Post a try and definitely tell me what you think! Keep that 9-5 life going but make it FUN!!
