Valentine’s Day is just a few days away and I think it’s pretty obvious that music is my one true love. I actually thought about going to school for music business back in the day while in high school and even tried to research what jobs in the music business I could go into. This was way before I was Googling literally any question that I came across and had to physically go to Barnes and Noble to find a book about “the biz”.
So, it should come as no surprise that I was a huge fan of making mixed CDs in high school. We even had a special program where you could design your CD sticker and type out your song list. The first CD we did this with was a mix my dad made called “Rick’s First Burn”. To this day when we hear a song on the radio that was on that album we’re always like “Ahh…Rick’s First Burn!!”
My friends and I were always downloading music, making mixed CDs and swapping music. Our favorite thing to download would be bootleg concerts from Dave Matthews Band tours. We were major jam-band kids and Dave and his band never cared if you came in and recorded because every concert was different.
We were constantly gifting each other mixed CDs so we wouldn’t have to buy albums, but the best mixes came from my high school boyfriend. He would be late to a date because he was too busy making the perfect mixed CD for me and honestly, he always nailed it. About a billion years later, because we’re old, we’re still good friends and he’s still sending me music recommendations. And honestly, he’s still nailing it with the recs.
So, GUYS….with Valentine’s Day just next week I figured I would gift you a little playlist all about love and if you notice the song titles kind of even tell a story about love and relationships. Don’t worry it’s not like sad or anything but I think it could be just the perfect thing to play on your Alexa or Google Home (love mine!) whether you’re whipping up dinner for two, having a solo night-in or are in your car headed out for a night of fun with your girls. No matter what you are doing, just know that I love you…oh and leave me a note in the comments, what is YOUR favorite love song?!
Also, don’t forget to follow this playlist on Spotify so you’ll always have access to these songs and we can be Spotify buds…YAY!
