Confession: I’m a huge fan of sleeping so my morning routine is down to a science to make sure I’ve received every single minute of the beauty sleep I so crave. For example, I’ve converted to IT Cosmetic’s CC+ Illumination Cream™ and it’s a 7-in-1 makeup miracle and I no longer need layers of foundation to look awake. This has shaved a few minutes off of the routine and the product is amazing and good for your skin, too!
Recently, I found another way to revamp my morning routine with Harry’s.
You may have heard about how expensive being a lady these days, or my guess is you are completely aware and watch the bills total up every 28ish days! What is worse is that the pay gap is still alive and thriving and yet we’re still suffering at the hands of the Pink Tax. The Pink Tax is gender-based pricing and is why women’s clothes generally cost 4% more than men and personal products? That’s a whopping 13% more…ladies, are you mad?! Because you should be. It didn’t cost an additional 13% to make my razor prettier than my male counterparts. And most certainly my new cold shoulder top obsession shouldn’t cost 4% more than a guys plain button up, when I’m pretty sure I lost 4% of material to make the top!
However, there are companies out there that are making amazing products, and not specifically marketing them to men or women and that’s how I began to revamp my morning routine. Harry’s, while they are manufacturing quality men’s shaving products, they know that women deserve to have as smooth of a shave as a man and not pay more for it. Bonus? All of the products at Harry’s are free of parabens, sulfates, vegan, and gluten-free and most importantly never tested on animals.
As someone who works in the manufacturing/merchandise world, when I am not lobbying for “The Nanny” to be on streaming services, I know enough to be dangerous. When I learned that the founders of Harry’s, Jeff and Andy, decided to buy their own manufacturing plant in Germany I knew these guys, and this company, were the real deal. See by owning their own factory they can oversee each and every blades and ensure high quality at a low-cost and know that their product is being manufactured to their standards. Seriously, music to my merchandise ears!
I tried out the Truman Razor set* in Nautilus blue and it fit in with my bathroom decor perfectly. In fact, nothing about the blade itself screams “I’m for a man” and that’s perfect for me. I’ve even added in the shaving gel to my routine and while the slight scent of ‘hot guy’ lingers (You know that scent!) it’s certainly better than the “Champagne and Raspberries” shaving cream for women!
I have to say within one swipe, I was impressed! I got the closest shave ever with this new blade/shaving gel combo and all with a slight bit of moisturizer thanks to the aloe and cucumber combo in the gel. Which makes sense since Harry’s is also formulated for your guy’s face and you want him smooth, moisturized and primed for a makeout sesh.

I think it is so crazy that women’s products are marked up so substantially. I definitely steal my boyfriend’s unused razors…I don’t care if they’re pink or whatever haha.

My biggest thing was cutting down time to get ready in the morning so I can enjoy my morning more. So now I shower at night and braid my hair so I have more natural, lose waves. Then I keep my makeup simple on weekdays so it’s only 20 minutes to get ready! Shaving typically happens at night so I’m not rushing in the morning.
