Happy December, lovelies! The holidays are here and I’m just so excited. There is something about this holiday that makes my heart happy and I am not going to lie that it may be the 567 Hallmark Christmas movies that I have watched in the last 14 days. What is it about these movies? It’s like seriously the movie version of a Champagne cocktail with a splash of Elderflower liquor (aka Girl Crack).
I often dream of quitting the 9-5 corporate grind and running away to a small town up north, coordinates unknown, and offer my event planning services to the town committee and help plan the annual tree lighting ceremony. This is where I will ultimately fall in love with the businessman who has come to town from “the big city” to help automate the cookie factory in town. I’ll warm his heart with my love of the holidays, my ability to keep up with his whit while partaking in a playful snowball fight and of course, my beauty and really popular podcast! Oh my gosh, do you guys think I’ve thought about this enough?
I have digressed a LOT here because what I really want to do is help you find the perfect gift for the holiday. No, not for your mom or your loved ones but for the people who you spend a majority of your time with…your coworkers! Yes, they deserve a gift too and last year shared how you could spread holiday cheer in the office but this year I want to offer up gift suggestions. Navigating the work place is hard, and it’s even harder with some tinsel and garland.
So, here are a few different gift idea buckets to help you throughout the holiday season at work!
$10 and under
When you have a handful of coworkers to buy gifts for, you don’t want to break the bank but you also don’t’ want to be the office Scrooge.
Gift Cards: Whether you want to buy your coworkers a cup of coffee or two or send them to the latest movie they can’t wait to check out; a $10 gift card is a great way to let your coworkers know that you had a great time working with them this year.
Candles: I think it’s pretty clear that Bath and Body Works candles are the jam and they are a great go-to shopping spot for grabbing some goodies. I am digging on their single-wick candles for gifts, and they even come in their own box! Your coworkers will appreciate the sentiment, and bonus points if you make sure you get scents that you know they already love.
Succulents: The plant that you can’t kill is the perfect little “Happy Holiday” gift for anyone. And what’s even cooler is that you can buy them in bulk online and look like an office hero by providing some decor for everyone. Purchase a bulk pack of 20 adorable succulents on Amazon for less than $2 a plant and cross your entire office off your ‘Nice’ list.
Candy: Ok, I know there are going to be so many cookies and sweets passed around the office this season but you know what? It works! This gift is easy and relatively cheap. If your gift-giving creativity has been drained then I say it is A-OK to fall back on this delicious gifty.
$25 and under
With a few more dollars you can get a little crafty with gifts for your office mates or your leader.
Heated Mouse Pad: Baby it is cold outside and yes, even in Florida it gets cold! Thanks to the winter weather there are some days where your hands are so cold you can’t type. Well, this is where we need to praise the technology gods and buy USB-charged heating mouse pads. I have used these in the past and am just in awe of this technology especially during the winter months.
Office Art Work: You know my favorite phrase and favorite office art is my ‘Like A Boss’ framed piece because it reminds me to drop the damn “girl” and to just rock my shit in the office. So, why not spread some female empowerment around the office and grab some art for your favorite coworker and let them know that you think they are bossin’ it up this holiday season!
Single-Can Fridge: For you cube mate who just can’t stand to drink their Pamplemousse LaCroix warm why not get them their own single-can fridge for their cube. Have USB cord, will travel and will chill your Diet Coke!
White Elephant Party
When office holiday parties turn a little boozy and fun it’s always great to have a go-to
Full-Bottle Wine Glass: This is perfect for those of us who like to have a glass of wine after a long day in the office. What’s better is that one glass holds an entire bottle of wine. This is fun, quirky and sure to be talked about for days after the party ends!
A Book of Dad Jokes: Nothing says ‘I’m punny and I know it’ like throwing some wrapping on this hilarious book of Dad jokes. Now your coworkers will be armed with hilarious one-liners to keep those long meetings a bit more entertaining!
Sriracha Key Chain: Your coworker who wins this prize will be thanking you the next time they are in the office cafeteria and need to add a little heat to their lunch.
Cards Against Humanity 90s Expansion Pack: Ok, this one is probably best suited for when you and your coworkers are partying without your boss around. Any good Xennial will be fighting to win this prize at the end of the night!
I hope that this gift guide will help you spread some holiday cheer throughout the offices these last few weeks of 2018! Sound off in comments and let me know what your favorite gift you ever got from a coworker was!
Happy Holidays!
