A fun fact about me: I live for a good lifestyle-aesthetic! I have a cute little retro mini-fridge in my bathroom for my lotions that just perfectly matches the relaxing vibe I’m going for. I put up artwork in my walk-in closet for my morning ‘get ready for the workday’ inspo that is needed after a long weekend and I live for a well-placed tchotchke. I can tell you with absolute certainty this love for a good aesthetic, or vibe, was drilled into me by my mama as a little kid. She was always letting me help plan the decor for my room and helping me understand how and why we decorate in a certain way. This life long ‘training’ is why I firmly believe that a good computer background, or as I call it, Computer Couture, is essential for office life.
Ok, do not laugh I am being serious here. That little screen on your computer where your icons live and your Start button takes residence, well, you stare at it for 40 hours a week, if not longer! And there’s no time like the present to make sure that your cute little eyes are staring at something pretty, inspirational, or both!
I know, I know, your computer comes with a ton of different backgrounds already, but if I’m being honest here? We’ve all seen that purple flower a billion times, and the sand dune one? Ha! I could paint it by memory I have seen it on so many people’s computers. What I’m saying is let’s spruce up what would be an otherwise just normal computer background, breathe some life into it, and bring some personal branding to the corporate world.
DISCLAIMER: Do NOT add any fun photos of you and your girlfriends at the bar, at a party, or drinking as your computer background. This is the opposite of professional. When you are plugged in to share your computer with the rest of the conference room, or Zoom meeting, I promise you will die a little inside when your photo from NYE with the gals pops up as the background.

Truth be told, at my desk in the office I have two monitors and my laptop so I have THREE screens to adorn with pretty pictures or words of inspiration. I spread cheer through the office with the pretty snow-covered backgrounds in December. And I’ve even given myself a pep-talk in March that’s there’s ‘no better time than now‘ to tackle my dreams!
These desktop designs, pictures and more even have a calendar cutely designed on them so you have no excuse to forget what day it is…unless you’re on day 3586 of “The Q” and can’t remember the last time you wore pants or shaved your legs…all good sis, I’m right there with you!
In my office, on the first of the month, you can hear a handful of us ladies running around saying “It’s time!! They’re here!” because we are just THAT jazzed on these gorgeous backgrounds and even discuss which background we picked and why. I’ve even gotten in the habit of changing out the background/home screen on my phone because these photos/designs are just too pretty not to see 24/7.
