If you’re anything like me sometimes you’re up and sometimes you’re down. I think for most people, 2016 was a down in a many ways culturally. Don’t worry, this isn’t where you get scared and think this is a political blog, lord knows that is not my forte. If you want to discuss the latest podcast about Bravo TV or go head to head with me on Selena v. Demi than you, my friend, will feel right at home.
Despite the shift in the current state of affairs, I have felt stagnant over the last few years. I have an awesomely fun job working for ‘The Mouse House”, I live in Florida, which makes everyday practically a vacation, and my family and friends rival any you saw on a TV show growing up. Seriously, they are the coolest and sometimes I’m not sure how they all picked ME! However, despite it all that I felt like things were missing or something was just an inch out-of-place. Ok, a few inches. Fine, a foot or two out-of-place! Sheesh!
The past few years have been a fun rollercoaster of health issues between myself and family members. I, myself, was able to contribute a great 9 month stint of Chronic Hives to the bunch! It’s a cute look to wear a polka dot shirt to the office while also having pink polka dots on your arms. To top off the health fun, early last year I received the diagnosis that I was pre diabetic. I caught it really early and have worked with an amazing endocrinologist to get my numbers down and fingers crossed I can kick this one in the butt, too.
Also, finding that Prince Charming has turned out a bit tougher than I realized and all the dating apps are so hard. Mainly because I can’t stick to an App for longer than a few weeks. I gave up on Angry Birds even before it jumped the shark as an animated movie.
Moving on…with those behind me and a great support system all around I still wasn’t sure what was missing until I realized I had lost my passion for certain things in life, mainly my zest for life! I went to Penn State University for Journalism so writing is a big thing for me, and I have a job where it’s not part of my world anymore and I realized I was missing seeing my name on a byline and telling people what I really thought of the latest Real World episode. So, I picked up my laptop and committed to starting a Blog to revamp my life and share my story. I thought I had an angle, my pre diabetes, but it wasn’t sticking. Then, 2016 turned south and I got busy at work and I let this and so many other things go.
Now it’s 2017 and I’ve seen amazing women all around me rise up and stand up to different challenges in their life. So I challenge ME, and you, please join me…I can’t do anything alone, to Revamp Life. It could be one thing in your life, or it could be 78.
What is there to lose if we never try?
